Whenever i open a new tab in you tube (right click + open in new tab) on my hybrid 2 in 1 laptop the site changes to mobile, why does Firefox not have a request desktop site for PC.

How do you recover from that? Is there a link in the page to use a desktop layout?

Usually sites do not use a mobile or tablet layout for desktop/laptop computer browsers; they recognize the user agent string as identifying a computer. Sometimes, though, if you have zoomed in a lot, the site with a "responsive" layout might use a mobile-style layout because it thinks that makes the best use of limited space.
