Where is the (Event) Category I just created?
Hello.
Within Calendar I have created several new events. And I do use the Category option, having created at least three. But in the creation of subsequent events, none of those newly created categories is listed in the "Category" drop-down.
What am I missing? Where are the ones I created?
Thanks.

I see the same thing: categories created 'on the fly' in the New Event window seem to only apply to that event, and aren't available for other events, or shown in the Options settings - not to mention the color can't be defined.
So, I guess the box in the event window should say 'Define a category for just this event' and have a box to check 'Add to permanent categories'.

I just tried this in TB 60.6.1/Lightning 6.2.6.1: in Tools/Options/Calendar/Categories, created a new category, closed Options with OK. When creating a new event in the calendar, the new category was available in the drop-down menu. If this is what you did, I don't know why you don't see the custom categories. Do you see them in the Options section? Is this for a local or network calendar?
Hello,
I'm using Tbird 60.6.1 (32-bit) and Lightning 6.2.6.1; a fresh install.
I just created a new Category by way of Tools|Options|Calendar/Categories.
The category WAS in the drop-down list of categories. So it does work. But when I created the previous categories, I did so from within the Event creation process.
Sounds like something is amiss??
Thank you, and if you have ideas/suggestions regarding this issue, I'd love to know.
Thanks again.
Forgot to answer your last question.
It is on a local machine, not a network environment.
Thanks.

Interesting. Well, anyone want to report a (potential) bug?
As I continue to work my way through Tbird, I'm sure to have more questions.
Thanks very much for your help, sfhowes.
