While browsing youtube.com, I am getting a regularly reocurring problem. For a while it will work perfectly, but eventually when I click a link to a different video, a window will pop up prompting me to choose between saving or running a file (as if I had downloaded a rar file or something). The file is usually named according to the action I'm doing. For instance if I type in the search bar and hit enter, it might open a file to download or run named "search" (or something similair). With videos the file is named "watch", and occasionally youtube.com's index will even try to save.

I have the Downloadhelper addon (quick download of youtube videos and conversion) installed and am wondering if maybe this is causing the problem? Only fix I have been able to find so far is restarting the browser, which is annoying, as I have a tendency to spend hours at a tiem on Youtube.

Windows 7 32 bit, E8400, Radeon HD4850, Firefox 3.3.6 (or whatever most recent is).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."

If not, see this: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/troubleshooting+extensions+and+theme...

Using this and the process of elimination I managed to workout that it was in fact the downloadhelper addon.

Hopefully I'll find a better add on or get this to work.

Thanks for your help!
