When Amazon UK site loads, error message received that additional plugins required to display all the media on the page. Java and Flash have been updated and all other plugins updated but the problem is not resolved. When I click install plugins a message is returned that no suitable plugins found. Browser has been closed and re started many times. Any ideas please? Many thanks

Seems to be caused by this image that is send as application/x-tibrv-bytes, but doesn't have valid content.
You can ignore that plugin notification.

Amazon.ca has the same problem and it seems to have started with Firefox 15. I'm assuming FF are working on it?

Hi ex_brit, Thanks for responding. That is interesting re Firefox15. Hopefully FF are indeed working on it because it is a tad annoying whenever logging into Amazon uk. It is some consolation to know however, that it is not my PC misbehaving because Amazon.ca are also affected :) Many thanks again for the information, I appreciate it. Best wishes.

I certainly hope they are as trying to report a bug to them is more difficult than gaining an audience with the Queen.

te-he I so agree!! Hey-ho, I guess a waiting game!

Hi again. The problem seems to have disappeared this morning

- hopefully never to return! I guess the FF elves have been working some magic at last! I logged in and out of Amazon to test this morning and the annoying plugin message did not appear. Hopefully the problem is also resolved for Amazon.ca users. Best wishes :)

How bizarre - seems to be a font-type variation in my above post despite not being able to vary the font type on here....ah well! :}}}

That text got automatically placed in <pre>(text)</pre> tags because you started the line with a space character.

Ah right! Many thanks cor-el for explaining that.

Problem gone here too.

Excellent, thanks for confirming that! FF certainly has had some problems during the past months and each upgrade seems to produce differing bugs, crashes and flakiness.

By the time we reached here I'm surprised that we all aren't on FF30 already ;-)

This is because that image is no longer requested by Firefox probably because Amazon has removed it from their code.
You can see that in the web console (Ctrl+Shift+K) that no longer shows the GET request.

Hi ex-brit, Perhaps Mozilla is endeavouring to emulate the Microsoft-post-release-thousands-of-updates-style

Many thanks cor-el for the information re web console.
