Trying to create new TBird Email acct using Firefox browser on computer that has always used AOL for email.
Daughter & Family have been using AOL mail via the Internet since the beginning of their computer use in their home. I've finally convinced them to let me migrate them to TBird for email, and am trying to set up a TBird account for them ON THEIR computer. The TBird Setup Wizard is only confusing the crap out of me, What's the best way to get some walk through help to do this? The internet provider is Charter/Spectrum and they have no proprietary email cient for their customers. You set up whichever one that you feel meets your needs. At home, I've used TBird/Firefox integrated together for years on Spectrum Internet service because I loved Netscape and hated Explorer. The Firefox/TBird combo most closely approximates Netscape, so for me it's the greatest client arrangement. Never thought this would be so hard. Any suggestions?--Bruce

There is no such thing as a "Thunderbird account". And neither Thunderbird nor Mozilla are email providers. You've set up an account with an email provider, e.g. AOL. Then you use Thunderbird to access mail for that account on your email provider's server, as well as to send mail via your email provider's server.

What exactly is confusing? Basically all you need to do is to run the Thunderbird 'New account wizard', enter your email address and password, and let Thunderbird pick the server settings. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/automatic-account-configuration
Firefox has got nothing to do with this.
