Okay, I think that deleting the fonts that were downloaded by Microsoft worked. Now all my browsers are up and working again.

Hi yellowblossomm, sorry to hear about this problem and thank you for the crash report IDs. The crashes seem really similar, something related to fonts.

What are you doing when you get this message --

Every time I try and open Firefox, I get this message: "Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts."

-- do you need to click something? Do you have any choices -- in particular, do you have the choice to just exit out of Firefox without restarting?

If you can exit without restarting, please try Firefox's Safe Mode. In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration -- most relevant here, I think -- any userChrome.css/userContent.css files, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.)

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any more stable?

Hi jscher2000, If I hold down the shift key and try to open Firefox in safe mode, the same error window pops open "Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts." It gives the option to send a report to Firefox and either quit or restart.

I think that this is about getting a list of installed font from the OS.

Do you have a lot of fonts installed ?
