Add shortcut icon on Firefox Home Screen
Why is there not a simple means to take a link and pin it as a tile on my home page? I've expanded the number of rows displayed which as an odd history of my browsing, yet the latest links I've visited are not there - meaning the link to the location I would like to pin. Seriously, the entries in the rows (other than previously pinned links) is a hodgepodge. It might be useful if there was some evident logic to the items included. It is disappointing the number of times this question has been posed and the "answer" is to display more rows. Similarly disappointing - an old knowledge base article that says to click the 3 dot icon next to address bar for Firefox on android - would have been handy had such a control appeared in the latest version of Firefox I'm running on my Mac.

Terry and suram080 - thanks. I appreciate the intention of your responses. I am acquainted with those options you mentioned, and read the links for customizing the new tab page. Let me just voice it as a feature request, that the user had some more detailed editorial control over the links that appear in the new tab page. I happen to find the central placement of links on the new tabs page a great convenience, even more convenient than the bookmarks toolbar, which I admit is never a reach to access.
From my perspective the issue is "closed", though not "solved". But I guess the only option is to mark it solved. I indicate my post as the solution simply so that others who have similar questions will see that the desired control is not implemented.

Hi roaming_bo,
I understand that you're looking for a simple way to pin a link as a tile on your Firefox home page. While Firefox doesn't have a built-in feature for pinning links to the home page, there are a couple of workarounds you can try.
One option is to use the "Bookmark" feature in Firefox. You can bookmark the desired link and then access it easily from the bookmarks toolbar or the bookmarks menu. To bookmark a page, you can click on the star icon in the address bar or use the shortcut "Ctrl+D" (Command+D on Mac).
Another option is to use a Firefox add-on called "New Tab Override." This add-on allows you to customize your new tab page and set a specific URL or tiles for quick access. You can find and install this add-on from the Firefox Add-ons website.
Regarding the display of rows and the arrangement of items on the home page, Firefox's new tab page is designed to display your most frequently visited sites based on your browsing history. If you're not seeing the latest links you've visited, it's possible that they haven't been recorded in your browsing history yet. You can try visiting the desired links again to see if they appear on the new tab page.
I hope these suggestions help. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please let me know.

I found out how to do it!! I noticed that you could edit the links so I tried it and it works.
Here is a step by step list to do what you want.
1. Open the website you want to link to in Firefox and copy the URL 2. Open a New Tab in Firefox. This should put you on the home page you want to save the icon to. 3. Put the cursor on any one of the "junk" icons that you want to replace 4. Click on the 3 dots that appear within the icon box and chose "Edit" 5. Paste the URL in the URL box and type the name you want to appear below the icon on your page in the Title box. Do nothing about the icon image. It will self correct when you finish 6. Click the "Save" box
That is all it takes
