When I enter a text in the address bar and press the 'return' key nothing happens given that all of these are true:

  1. I'm connected to Mullvad VPN
  2. I'm using Firefox
  3. Address bar default search engine is set to 'Google'.

So to give some examples: 1. If I'm on chrome and everything else is the same as above, it works. 2. If I'm disconnected from the VPN, and on firefox, it works. 3. If I'm on VPN, and using firefox, but I set the default search engine to 'duck duck go' it works.

I tried all the steps in the troubleshooting guide here - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems and none of them worked for me. I'm quite confused about the issue here.

What could be wrong here?

I'm attaching a screenshot of what happens when I type text and press 'return'. Literally nothing happens, not even a 'webpage loading spinner'. Also attaching screenshots of network settings.

If you need any other information that can help with the troubleshooting please let me know. Thank you for taking the time to help me!

Try running mozregression between version 115 and 116 to find when it broke.

Are you sure you tried disabling your extensions? AdBlocker Ultimate has been causing similar issues lately.

Yes, I'm sure I've tried disabling extensions but that doesn't work either.

Sounds like a VPN issue with Firefox caused the block and not from the Browser. Did you contact their support about their VPN connection issues.
