How to disable hardware acceleration?

How can I disable hardware acceleration in Firefox Android beta? What value in about:config do I need to change? layers.acceleration.disabled or layers.acceleration.force-enable did not work, about:support still shows OpenGL-acceleration enabled. This causes display issues on my Nexus 10 (so I suspect) that the release version doesn't have.

It should start with gfx if its hardware accel, have you tried that?

Thanks, but I couldn't find a single option that sounded like acceleration there.

I dont even think you can opt out of hardware accel, anyways if you are having graphical glitches with the Nexus 10, you should file a bug anyways.

You're right, of course. I was hoping for another way, because I'm somewhat in a fix right now: Since the update to Android 4.3 the release-version of Firefox experiences frequent crashes, and the beta, while _not_ showing the crashes, has these graphic problems.

Right now, I cannot use any Firefox browser on my Nexus 10. I'm not exactly keen to move all my passwords and bookmarks to another browser, either. :-(

Can you try the nightly version before writing a bug.

Thank you, good tip!

The current nightly does not show the graphic issues, and so far it hasen't crashed on me, but it still freezes on occasion like the release version. (I suppose "freeze" isn't quite the right word: The menu and URL bar is still working, thus I can exit Firefox or go to another page. But I can't scroll a page any more. If I call a system page (about:config will do) and return, scrolling (on the previous page) works again.

I don't even know how many seperate bugs I should file any more, and on which editions. :-(

Im also guessing you updated your tablet to Jelly Bean 4.3, thats likely why the release version of firefox is acting up

Yes, I quite agree; while before not everything was all roses (there always have been random crashes) the current behaviour is definitly new.

The developers would probably already be aware of the issues, wouldn't they? I'm pretty sure I'm not the first guy running 4.3. :-)
