I changed my firefox sync password and reinstalled firefox, now I cannot see my sync data why did I do wrong?
Dear mozilla support,
My operating system is Ubuntu Mate 16.04 LTS, my browser was very slow decided to reinstall a clean firefox(I also deleted the /home/username/.mozilla directory). Because I forgot my firefox sync password I requested a reset, which was successfully done, then I uninstalled firefox then installed it back. I could successfully login to my firefox sync account, synchronization looks functional(no error messages) but unfortunately none of the data(passwords, bookmarks, history) is restored.
Can you please help me get my data back?
Thank very much in advance for your help!
Yours truly, Krisztina Darvasi

the data is purged on the server as soon as you performed the password reset procedure by clicking on the confirmation mail unfortunately. do you happen to have any local backup of your files available - otherwise i fear the data is lost for good :-/

hi, unfortunately your original password is the only decryption key that makes it possible to get to your sync data stored on mozilla's server (there is no other way for mozilla themselves either). so once you've reset/changed your password, the data on the server will be lost for good - a user is also warned about that during the procedure!
Thank you for your quick reply,
Is worth to try to change my password back to all my possible previous password versions and try to sync one by one? Or each time a new password gets a different code even if I type in the same characters?
