Hi Guys,

I migrated my bookmarks over from one Firefox browser to a new machine. I have all the bookmarks saved in a Bookmarks toolbar folder and they are all there but I cannot figure out how to get them all out of the toolbar folder and on the bar individually?

At present they are in the folder on the toolbar space of the main browser. Previously I had a number of bookmarks showing across the browser and then the rest were listed below on the far right when you hover over it.

I would like to have it in that format again but cannot see how to do it! When I right click I get these options:

Open all in tabs New Bookmark New folder New separator Cut Copy Delete Sort by name Properties

I cannot see which would drag them all out nor can I use left click (showing them all) then right to drag them all out!

Hopefully someone can help sort this thanks.

Hi, you made a issue.... Drag and drop one at a time out of the Bookmark Toolbar Folder into the main bookmarks.

I know of no simpler way.

I work from the Menu Bar which you can turn on at bottom left of Customize --. Toolbars you can use Show All Bookmarks (from where ever you find best which sounds like your doing so.

Am not sure what you did when say migrating.

If that is the case you will have Multiple Bookmark Toolbar Folders for every install. So one for the one that was there then will have the one that you moved over I guess. This is a mess.

Maybe take a Screenshot of the bookmarks open and there location so can get a visual Idea of where you are at. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem

You didn't mention how you "migrated" you bookmarks from one Firefox to the other, but if you used the Export & Import in HTML format I can understand what you are dealing with. (Although a screenshot might be helpful to be sure.) I suspect your "old" Bookmark Toolbar bookmarks are in a different / separate folder of that name, which does happen when the Import function is used.

It sounds like you need to do a little bit of rearranging your Bookmarks which are in the "old" Bookmarks Toolbar folder by moving them into the new Bookmarks Toolbar folder which would be the one with the "Star". The "old" Bookmarks Toolbar folder won't have that "Star" and will look like all the other Folders that you created.

See this support article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sort-bookmarks-quickly-find-ones-you-want#w_rearranging-manually

Thank you for the replies.

I exported them via HTML and still have that. If it is any easier I can delete the folder I have now in the new browser and start again.

If so what is the procedure to ensure I get them correctly added to my new version of Firefox?

Many thanks

Hi, ok so you exported them. Did you stick all these bookmarks into the bookmark folder before doing so or how did you get all your bookmarks into the one folder as is strange. ?

Did you use the import command  ?

Trying to figure out as both of us asked or mentioned. just weird. So if you moved all the bookmarks into the bookmark toolbar folder drag them out. to where you want them.

Screenshot is the only way to figure this out as not enough information supplied to figure what was done.

Please make sure you get screenshots of the bookmarks top to bottom Discuss what we are seeing and where the bookmarks are.... Is no other way Am loosing it trying to visualize this.
