Hello,

We are using Firefox 78 ESR configured by Group Policies. Nearly everything works as wanted but one thing:

When we start Firefox an update Message with the green update now arrow appears in the menu and as popup. It leads to the actual non-ESR Version of Firefox that is not wanted. When looking at the about Firefox page it shows that the used Version of Firefox is the current (ESR) one and doesn't need the update. I can't find the setting that stops Firefox ESR from checking the normal update Channel for the Update notifications.

every help or hint is appreciated,

with best regards, Martin

How do you completely turn off update checks in Firefox v64? You can use a policies.json file to disable updates for all users. https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md or https://winaero.com/blog/disable-updates-firefox-63-above/

You can use a policies.json file in the distribution folder in the Firefox installation folder instead as also listed in the article, so no need to use GPO keys in the Windows Registry. • https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customizing-firefox-using-policiesjson

Are yo sure that the update channel is correct ?

You can check this via the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page and possibly in channel-prefs.js in the "defaults\pref" directory in the Firefox installation folder.
