I loaded my profile to a USB and installed on my new PC. However, not everything has migrated. Notably my Address Book, two secondary e-mail accounts, and a very large archive of e-mails located under Local Folders. What did I do wrong? I followed the YouTube video.

Thanks in advance for any assistance, Alan

Chosen solution

Assuming you left Profile where TB installed it, you need to copy the Thunderbird folder at c:\(yourID)\appdata\roaming. That includes everything. If placed in the same place on laptop, TB should open with all showing. AND, if you copied while TB was running, many files would NOT have copied. That may have been your problem. If in doubt, compare properties of folders on USP after copying. That was the cause of a problem another person reported a few days ago. Let me know.

Thanks David, I think the problem arose in the Roaming folder. I initially pasted direct to the Thunderbird sub-folder. I have just tried a second time but right-clicking on a neutral area. Everything is now available on my replacement e-mail installation including all accounts, my address book, and the several thousand Archive e-mails.

Cheers,

Alan
