How can I change the name of an existing folder in Thunderbird for Android?

I had the same problem and after finding a solution I responded as follows I accessed my email account from my desktop or cell phone browser and changed the folder name. The only way to create a new folder was also to create a new folder on my desktop or cell phone browser.
