i want firefox to log off sites automatically when i close firefox. it used to do that.
Previously, Mozilla Firefox would log off for me automatically when I closed Firefox. For example, if I were logged onto Yahoo, it would log off for me when I shut down Firefox.
After the latest update that feature disappeared.
I'd like to have it back. How to?
Chosen solution
If you reopen websites automatically on a next start then Firefox will store the cookies that are used in those tabs in the sessionstore.js file as part of the session data, so you won't get logged off if you close Firefox without closing the tabs first.
You can set the browser.sessionstore.privacy_level pref to 2 (never) or 1 (non-HTTPS) on the about:config page to disable saving cookies via session restore.
The browser.sessionstore.privacy_level_deferred pref is used when you do not reopen the previous session automatically via "Show my windows and tabs from last time" and uses the same values.

If you set the cookies to be all session cookies, that would probably do it. In Options > Privacy, change the option under "Accept cookies from sites" to keep until "I close Firefox".

I also have this problem, but the fix shown did not work for me. If I use Internet Explorer it does not leave me logged in after exiting. I am using Firefox 16 Windows 7 64bit
