That are the only junk filtering in Thunderbird. What makes you think is is still on?

Thunderbird is still marking messages as junk. That's what makes me think it is still on.

Thunderbird places a Flame looking icon beside Junk messages and depending on how you set it up it either moves them to a junk folder or leaves them in the Inbox. This only works when you turn junk controls on.

That doesn't answer my question.

No, but then perhaps the person communicating with you is trying to determine if what they describe is what you are calling junk controls. We see lots of folk in these forums complaining about junk or spam filtering and what is happening is they use a spam filtering anti virus, or they do not understand the spam filtering on the server is reflected in their Thunderbird IMAP mail accounts. So your statement needs some sort of verification, describing the process usually gets a response of I did that/ see that or what are you talking about.... You however chose to respond that your question is not answered. Like Airmail, I am still questioning is it is even a Thunderbird issue.

But I will go one further... are you disabling the use adaptive junk controls in the global setting or the per account settings and if in the account settings are you selecting to correct account.

If you have not, enable the junk filter logging. Then we can see in the log what is happening. Remember to clear the log (in the view button) when you enable it, just to be sure it only contains junk processed after the option was turned off.

I do not use the junk icon column in the message list (I deselected it long ago), so I don't know if it would have contained a flame. The offending behavior was that a banner message appeared at the top of a message saying something like "Thunderbird thinks this is spam." All the global junk preferences under Tools - Options - Security - Junk are deselected. The per-account setting (Tools - Account Settings - Junk Settings - Enable adaptive junk mail controls) was deselected for the proper account (I only have one). I have enabled junk filter logging and cleared the log (it was already empty). If the offending behavior recurs I will post the results.

Thunderbird does not use the word Spam. But now that you finally provide some relaxing info Thunderbird does have SCAM detection and it puts up a banner that says Thunderbird thinks this is a SCAM. Turn off scam detection if it bothers you.

3 words to know and use at the appropriate time. Junk Scam Spam

I said the offending message was "something like" Thunderbird thinks the message is spam. Maybe it used the word junk. I didn't take a picture of it. I'm familiar with Thunderbird's bright red potential scam warning, and that's not what this was.

I already told you the 2 words Thunderbird uses are Junk and Scam. When you figure out what your question is really about maybe you can get an accurate answer.

And for that reason no one knows what your problem is. The banner might just as well be telling you it has blocked remote images.
