Mozilla is supplying a password for a login. I don't want this; I only wanted it to remember my username. How do I stop Mozilla from supplying the password whenever I access the site?

hi, you can edit or remove stored passwords in firefox through the password manager in the privacy & security settings: Password Manager - Remember, delete and edit logins and passwords in Firefox

Note that it isn't possible to clear the password field (leave it blank). Firefox won't allow this. You can edit the password field and only leave one fake character. You can create a password block exception to prevent Firefox from asking to update the password. Make sure to add the correct protocol (https://site.xxx) when you create the exception.

I was able to check off the box to stop Firefox from saving any login or password info. So far, this seems to have worked.

Another question: How do I easily get into Firefox settings and my account? Twice I had to put "my account" into the general search box and then had to give my email address in order to get into my account. Isn't there a more direct way?

Thanks.

Is there a reason why you have a account as it is not needed in general. ??

When changing some settings in Mozilla recently, I was prompted to get into my account in order to ask you people a question!

Hello,

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.
