Always Auto Reload/Refresh Tabs When Restore Session
Hello, After I have update Firefox to v62, now it always reload all of the tabs when I restore the session. I had changed browser.tabs.remote.autostart to false and made sure that browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand was true. But it still reload all of the tabs when I restore the session. Is there any way to fix that? Thank You.

The "on demand" preference still works for me in Firefox 62. Do any of your extensions possibly cause this issue?

Hello, can you try refreshing firefox
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.
To Refresh Firefox:
- Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
- Click the menu button , click help and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
- If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
- At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
- Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
- Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Hello, I had reset the firefox and for the first time after reset, the tabs did not automatically reload. But after that when I closed the firefox and opened again, it happened again. I checked the configuration, browser.tabs.remote.autostart changed to default (true) so I changed again to false but no avail. The browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand was still true. Thank You.
Type about:config into the location bar and press enter.
- Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences.
- Locate the preference browser.sessionstore.max_concurrent_tabs , double-click on it and change its value to 0 (zero) ,
this will make Firefox only load the tab when you select it.
Hello, I cannot find browser.sessionstore.max_concurrent_tabs in about:config. To make sure, I copy paste to the search bar and nothing show up. Also search with term "max" and "concurrent", there is not anything close to that I think. Thank You.
Firefox will only restore/load pages if you switch to a tab if this choice is checked off.
- Tools > Options > Tabs: Don’t load tabs until selected

Hello, There isn't that option either. Thank You.
- In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.
- In the search box above the list, type or paste sess and pause while the list is filtered
- Double-click the browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash preference to switch the value from true to false
Hello, I'm sorry but the tabs still auto reload. I had tried to change browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand from true to false, it resulted all the tabs to lose the address and became blank/new tab. Thank You.
You probably need to clear the disk cache when you close Firefox (Clear history when Firefox closes) to prevent loading pages from the cache.
I personally pref to have the on_demand set to true to have a session to start as quickly as possible without having to wait until all tabs are loaded. This can especially be useful if Firefox would crash or you would (accidentally) close Firefox and you had many tabs open.

Hello, Thank you for your hint. I found the culprit. A VPN add on was the cause. I really didn't think that an add on made the issue. Everything was fine until the Firefox update a few days ago. Maybe the add on was updated too, causing the issue to arise.
