Cannot install the Russian spellchecking dictionary for Thunderbird on Mac
TB is saying "Russian Hunspell spellchecking dictionary could not be installed because Thunderbird cannot modify the needed file."
Thunderbird version: 60.5.1 macOS High Sierra, version 10.13.6

To install the Russian Hunspell dictionary in TB 60, first open Tools/Options(Mac:Preferences)/Advanced/General/Config. editor and double-click the preference extensions.strictCompatibility to false, OK to close Options. Next, right-click the green Download Now button on the webpage, Save Link As..., and download the xpi file. in Tools/Add-ons/Dictionaries, click the gear icon next to Search, Install Add-on from file..., select the xpi file (see picture).

Hi all I have the same problems on windows 10 when I try to install Italian dictionary. How I can resolve this issue ??

To install the Italian dictionary in TB 60.8, right-click the green Scarica ora button, Save Link As..., and download the xpi file. In Tools/Add-ons/Dictionaries in TB, click the gear icon next to the search box, Install Add-on from File..., select the xpi file (see picture).
