I can delete all the items in a folder, but it won't let me delete the folder

I have duplicate folders of bookmarks that I would like to delete, and I can select and delete the items in the folder, just not the folder itself. The "Delete" option is ghosted.

Which folder are you trying to delete?

In the left pane in the Library (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) there are three main folders in the "All Bookmarks" folder ("Bookmarks Toolbar","Bookmarks Menu","Unsorted Bookmarks").
You can't remove those main folders.

I set up a series of my own folders - "News," "Junk," etc., and somehow, they duplicated themselves and now I'm just trying to clean up my Bookmarks, but it won't let me delete these sub-folders (if that's the right term?)
