Instead of deleting a cookie, I would like theoption to retain a cookie, and delete the rest in "preferences."

This is a suggestion. I'm using Iceweasel on debian wheezy. I would like to retain some cookies and delete the rest. Some cookies for bank websites I visit can be very useful. So right now, I have the option of deleting individual cookies, or deleting the whole bunch. But what I would like is to be able to selectively retain some cookies and then do a batch delete on the rest, so that only the few that I need would be retained.

hello, you could set firefox to generally only keep cookies until you close the browser, but create exceptions for individual sites where this policy shouldn't apply: Use custom settings for history

I have this problem too. Unfortunately the solution offered does not help because I do not want to retain ALL cookies from a site, just one of them. My problem involves Facebook. I have set firefox to delete all cookies on exit but this means that Facebook's browser tracking security doesn't work, because each time I login Facebook believes it is with a new browser. I would like to whiteist the individual cookie that identifies my browser and delete all others on exit. Can this fine grained whitelist of individual cookies be implemented?

Thank you.

You can look at this extension:

Note that cookies are only protected within the CookieCuller extension, so do not use "Clear Recent History", but let the cookies expire if you close Firefox and protect the ones that you wish to keep.

Thank you cor-el!! The CookieCuller extension does exactly what I need! It's user interface could be improved a bit but it does the job just fine.

It also seems to play nice with Self-Destructing Cookies 0.4.2 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/self-destructing-cookies/?src=api

So now I can whitelist individual cookies while deleting the trackers, and I don't have to rely on others to update a list of trackers I just delete them all except the ones I find I need. :-D
