Updated version cannot connect to the internet
I updated to the latest version 35 but since then, the browser does not seem able to connect to the internet. I thought that it was my firewall that was blocking the program. I did what was suggested to get around this problem, that is, to remove it from my firewall and then add it again. But it did not solve the problem. There is nothing wrong with my internet per se, as I am indeed able to connect to the internet using IE or Chrome. And I was able to connect to the internet in the previous version of Firefox. Unfortunately, the newer updated version is not allowing me to. Does any one have any solution?

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Under Advanced, Select Network. Look for Configure How Firefox Connects and press the Settings button. Check the settings.
Thank you for your help! But it did not solve my problem. The browser is still unable to connect to the internet. I have also tried tweaking the firewall , to the extent of disabling the firewall even. Does not work. I will appreciate any other solutions. Thanks in advance!
Try starting FF in secure mode and see whats happning. If that works its probably a add-on thats not compatible. If it doesnt work look if you have a user.js in your %AppData%\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\???????.default ( ????? being your profile-id) If so rename it and try again.

Hi mahen69_2000, try to boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) and then see if that allows to start Firefox.
thank you
