I frequently watch Fox News Channel live on Firefox in Windows 10. The FNC player no longer works on Firefox 52 and 53, so I have been using MS Edge to watch FNC. I think the problem may have started with Firefox 52. I would prefer to use Firefox for all my browsing.

Totally forgot to ask : Would you check and see if your Shockwave Flash is up to date  ? Should be : 25.0.r0 And also your Flash Player  ? Should be : 25.0.0.148

Shockwave flash is 25.0.r0 My Npapi plug-in is 25.0.0.148, but what difference does that make? I thought Firefox no longer uses Npapi plug-ins I believe that plug-in is for Internet Explorer.

In case everything else should fail :
You could try   Help Center - Fox News .......

FNC has no help center other than the FAQ's that I mentioned before. I called the viewer hotline before I started this thread but they have not called me back as the recording said after it asked for my city, provider and telephone number.

Flash Player is Shockwave Flash. Most of us just call it Flash.

I mentioned Shockwave Flash and Flash Player for a reason. See :     https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/flash-player-vs-shockwave-player-difference.328165/

Dear Happy 112, I am not sure what I am supposed to learn from this link. In future please post one or two suggestions at a time. As you can see the thread becomes unmanageable when you post too many times before I have a chance to reply. I have not finished responding to all your posts yet, but I am going to pause to wait for you all to catch up. I appreciate the help by-the-way.

OK. but why did he think I would want to?

You pointed out that

Starting with version 52 Firefox no longer supports Java.

Dear FredMcD, You are confusing me. Are you now saying that I need Java in order to watch FNC live? I thought Happy112 said I only need JavaScript, not Java.

Happy 112 and FredMcD, Just to be sure we are communicating. Did you definitely tell me that you can watch FNC live on your Win 10 Firefox 53? You are certain of that? Because if you can't, then we are all spinning our wheels.

You are absolutely right;   I should have directed my post   (the one where I quote FredMcD)   at   FredMcD. Must be very confusing for you.   I apologize.

Dear   loyall,
All of this must be very, very confusing for you :  you're getting all these suggestions and questions and never even had a chance to reply. Now, you go over all those posts and questions   -   and take your time   ! I can't come up with anything else that might be helpful to you,   so I'll just leave you in the capable hands of my fellow contributors.
(When I gave you that link to a Fox News Help Desk, that actually led me to a Help Desk   -   now it doesn't anymore.   Weird.   Must have added to your frustration.   So sorry   !)

Dear Happy 112. Thanks again for your help. before you go, could you please answer my question two posts previously? "Just to be sure we are communicating. cor-el, I appreciate the above link, but I am not smart enough to understand what it means. I take it to mean FNC videos should play by default on Firefox, except for loyall. Seriously, could you elaborate for me.

PS-While I have your attention, I am having problems with this new forum. I can only reply with a quote, even if I don't think I need it. Also, the posts are not numbered so that they can be easily referenced. The forum does not allow replies to individual posts.

Truth be told :   I can watch the site ,   but in order to watch the live video, I have to mention my provider, which is not on the list.
By the way :   you don't   have   to quote in order to post a reply   -   just scroll down a little to   'Post a Reply'   and start typing   !
But,   (like I told you in a PM) :  you'll probably find the solution to your problem in cor-el's last post   (the opposite of what I suggested earlier :   instead of making sure that Flash Player is up to date,   disable it, as FoxNews uses HTML5) . You'd better ask cor-el though, who has better working braincells than I do.

But it is still not clear to me. I, too, am required to log in with my provider. Are you able to watch FNC live streaming? Yes or no? Perhaps no one in the entire world can watch FNC live on Firefox 53.

I would assume based on what is says in the article and what I quoted that the HTML5 media player is used and not a Flash based player. I can't test this with watch live.

If the HTML5 media player isn't working then you should check for issues related to that.

What does it say on the YouTube test page (any red boxes)?

This must be so frustrating for you   ! I don't know if I'll be able to watch FNC live streaming, as I live in Europe, and can't login   (they won't accept my provider). But when you see that : "For video troubleshooting and help click here':   that doesn't give you any answers   ?
Now maybe I'm being stubborn, but would you please disable Flash Player and see if that makes a difference   ? (keeping my fingers crossed here ..... )

cor-el, The YouTube test page you sent me to does not show any red xes or red anything. Was I supposed to do anything on that page? I did not really understand what the page was all about. Am I supposed to install an HTML5 media player in Firefox? Is there any way to find out if any FF53 users are able to successfully watch FNC live streaming? By-the-way I disabled hardware acceleration as you suggested.

I apologize for not mentioning it before, but I disabled shockwave flash and that made no difference.

Help   ! How can I make this any clearer :   I can   not   login with my provider, as it is not on the list.   Hence I don't know if I'd be able to watch FNC live streaming if I could log in   .......
I don't know if others are experiencing the same problem as you   (sorry,   I can't be any more helpful).
