I am trying to update firefox on my rhel 6.9 machine from version 52.7 to 59.0.2. But when i untar the package and try to access firefox it is failing with below error: XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /opt/firefox/libmozgtk.so: libgtk-3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Couldn't load XPCOM.

While 52.7 version perfectly fine on my machine but any higher version is causing the problem. Please look into this and help me troubleshoot.

Firefox 46.0 and later versions from Mozilla requires GTK 3.4 (three.four which came out like seven years ago) and newer to run. This means it also needs GTK 3 themes to theme Firefox now. Some Linux distros may have delayed this changed for a while and allowed you to still use a GTK2 Theme with their own builds such as with Firefox 52 ESR.

Firefox 46.0 and newer builds from Mozilla will not run on GTK2 only and is not themed by GTK2 themes.
