I just started up an old session and made new tabs for several links, but they're all blank pages and refuse to load up. I try to search for things by typing in the address box up top, but hitting enter does nothing, the browser simply refuses to search for what I typed. In short, I'm stuck where I am and can't go anywhere.

It may be due to installing that new windows update, but I'm not sure.

Hi Paul,

I understand you are having difficulties starting up your old session tabs and the address bar is not working.

You could try to see if your Firefox is up to date to see if that fixes the issue.

To manually do this:

  1. On the top right, click the menu button
  2. Click Help towards the bottom
  3. Click About at the bottom
  4. The second row of text will determine if your Firefox is up to date.

If Firefox is up to date, you could try rebooting Firefox in safe mode. Safe mode starts Firefox with a limited amount of files:

  1. Click the menu button
  2. Click Help
  3. Select Restart with with Add-ons Disabled
   OR
  1. Hold down the shift key while starting Firefox

Let me know if this helps or if I could assist you further!

Quote: I just started up an old session

How did you start this old session?

Did you place an older copy of sessionstore.jsonlz4 in the profile folder or did you use a session manager extension?

The old sessionstore.jsonlz4 might not be compatible or might otherwise be corrupted.

You can look at this tool to inspect a compressed sessionstore file.
