Chosen solution

Looks like https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/christmas-lights/ is added as an extension but is categorized as a persona (light weight themes). Go to Tools > Add-ons then check in both extensions and themes and uninstall it.

Now that the status bar is now the addons toolbar I see those listed there are all personas and that they do affect the addons toolbar so you would find it as a Theme, and think this must be very confusing now as I will no longer be able to screen out themes with a Google addons search -- phooey.

Extensions can be identified with intitle:Add-ons, and have changed my add-ons extension searches accordingly.
