i just realized i updated my video card driver, so i rolled back my driver and it fixed the issue. now im wondering what the heck the problem was that the driver had the issue..

i guess i have to go post on a nvida form now ?

Hi greyhood,

I'd try starting Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. I'd check the box for resetting all settings too. It might be a default font issue. You can go to Tools > Options > Content > Advanced to see.

If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide and the Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems article as well.

Hopefully this helps!

Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

You can do a font test to see if you can identify corrupted font(s).

@cor-el

-disabling hardware acceleration didnt work, but it did make the fonts look even worse lol. solid try though thank you
