problems viewing aspx files

I have been able to open files on this family history research site in the past with Java but all of a sudden nothing will open. Previously: I would click on one of the links, and it would just open. Now: a grey box pops up asking what I want Firefox to do with this file. When I select "open with Java web start Launcher" it says "Application not found."

Unfortunately, I can't post the actual links, but if you select any options from the drop-down boxes on this site, some links in red will appear at the bottom of the screen that will bring up the message for me.

It's peculiar that the Open/Save/Cancel dialog, at least in my case, says it's an ASPX file without being more specific about the content-type. When I use a proxy to inspect the traffic, I see this:

Content-Type: application/x-java-jnlp-file; charset=utf-8

There were two other threads recently about JNLP file issues. I'm not sure either of them reached resolution, but for reference:
