Can't download certain attachments; rolls across top of screen.

When I receive certain attachments, I cannot open them. I click on the attachment, and boxes scroll across the top of the screen and keep on scrolling. I have to X out of the e-mail and start over again, and I never am able to download these attachments. I know that I have not done something that I am supposed to do to be able to download all attachments, but I don't know what that "something" is. I probably will not be able to understand what I am supposed to do. Obviously, the person sending the e-mail and attachment is using some kind of program to attach that I don't have. Help!

What is the provider you are using?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

  • Clear the Cache

Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

and

  • Remove Cookies

Warning ! ! This will log you out of all sites you're logged in to. Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;

Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences

Then Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. There is a button on the right side called Show Cookies.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;

Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences

Then Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.
