Firefox pauses and lags for about half a second every 8 seconds whether typing or scrolling etc. Its a complete pause of the browser but oddly enough you tube videos picture or sound does not pause. So it seems to only be input device based. I actually used a stop watch and timed the pauses to 8 seconds. Its been doing this for about a month I think but may be longer and this issue is not happening on any other browser. Any thoughts?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

On a side note, you are not running the last version of Firefox, according to the support details that were provided with your support request. If you update to the latest version of Firefox, your issue may have been patched.
