I have a new router (FIOS Quantum Gateway) and am unable to enter the device firmware interface. When I try I get a Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead. When I select advanced and then accept risk and continue it just returns to the previous warning. I was able to accept and make an exception with Cyberfox but not with any other browser. MS browsers simply took me to their propaganda site, I did not try Chrome, won't be using it anyway. I mainly use Firefox so would like to remove the warning or add the exception for my router address or find out why I am getting a warning in the first place on my router. Thanks,

Using http://192.168.1.1 is going to be an issue with "security".

Does https://192.168.1.1 work to login to that device? That would be a secure connection being made.

No, that didn't work. Digging a little deeper I found some info under technical details. It said the website 192.168.1.1 does not support encryption for the page you are viewing. Etc. Even though I used the https:// prefix

Did you read the Router login instructions? Not all routers use 192.168.1.1 to first login in until you setup the router.

Hmm, the user manual says the device supports HTTPS and doesn't mention having to make an exception, so it's puzzling that Firefox can't form a secure connection:

https://www.verizon.com/cs/groups/public/documents/adacct/fqgrouter-userguide.pdf (see page 20)

If you can tolerate interacting with Verizon customer service, I think it would be worth posing the question to them.

By the way, I haven't used Cyberfox. Is there a way to see the details of a secure connection, similar to the bottom section of the Page Info dialog in Firefox (right-click > View Page Info)?

Forgot to mention: it's the Security panel of the Page Info dialog, bottom section.
