Firefox crashes
hi, i have been crashing regularly but cannot work out why or what i am doing to cause it. Have reset to safe mode and re-added some extensions with Mozbackup. now i am getting plugincontainer has stopped working rather than firefox crashes but would really like to pin this down and fix it. I have submitted several recent crash reports for analysis. Thank you very much, if you can advise me I would be very happy. Chris

Hello Chris, in order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
maybe not related but you have in your profile folder a User.js file.
The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not create the file then delete the User.js file(some programs create and write in the file also).
thank you

Try to get the latest generic graphics drivers for your os and see if the isuue exist. If you don't want that, see if after you turn off hardware acceleration, fix the issue.
thank you
Hi , I have the latest nvidia drivers already installed , without the 3d extras or the geforce experience... could they be the problem and if so should i go back to the drivers that would be suggested by microsoft via an update with Device Manager? I have disabled hardware acceleration now as you suggested, I had already tried disabling that briefly recently after reading that it could be an issue but may well have had crashes with it off, im not sure :) How about webgl.disabled? I am intereseted to know what you can glean from my crash reports.. I have my Firefox profile in a ram drive :) I wonder if that might be an issue.. I appreciate your help. Chris

It seems that it is a driver issue !
Try the webgl.disabled to true to see that helps.
thanks again
Hi, Okay thanks for the info, I have reinstalled shockwave plugin, flash player was up to date anyway, will try with hardware acceleration on and off and WebGL on and off. Funny thing is it hasn't crashed since the last crash report and all I have done so far is reinstall the same version of shockwave and remove the user.js.

Great, watch it a bit to see if the crash reappears
I did toggle hardware acceleration on and off for a while remove some extensions and reset some settings that might have been changed by fasterfox (now removed) in browser.cache. Fingers crossed :) Thanks
