My firefox opens too big and I cannot minimize because the button along with the close X ar gone .. I cannot do the alt+space either. I don't have extensions when I tried then off. Some of my plug ins don't have an option to turn them off. I open in safe mode and that fixes the problem, but no solutions are working. I also do not have a theme, its set to default. I have tried about everything I have read on how to fix it. I also tried the full screen option but it doesn't change anything. It almost lookalike there is a tiny sliver of another window in the background, but you cannot click it.

right click taskbar cascade windows

That does not really help because if I open firefox I cannot get to the place to cascade windows. It takes up the whole screen and I have to exit all tabs to even close it

taskbar should appear if you put mouse near top of screen

maybe your monitor needs adjusting

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Full Screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).

When you are in Full Screen mode, hover the mouse to the top of the screen to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear. You can use one of these to leave Full Screen mode:

  • press the F11 key
  • click the Maximize button at the right end of the Tab bar
  • click the Full Screen button in the "3-bar" menu button drop-down list
  • right-click empty space on a toolbar and click "Exit Full Screen Mode"

Try to rename (or delete) the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder. You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
