Inbound server error

more options

I moved from CA to AZ and am stuck with CenturyLink. Now when I try to use Thunderbird as my mail client, I get the following error message: "Sending of password for user stumpie1@sbcglobal.net did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: Server error - Please try again later."

I'm using a POP mail server "inbound.att.net", SSL/TLS Normal password. It worked just fine with ATT Uverse connection, but not here.

Login to the outbound server also doesn't work. I downloaded and installed the latest Thunderbird version. Everything works just fine on Firefox.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

You have to create the key on the AT&T site and then enter it when TB asks for a password.

AT&T accounts require secure mail keys in TB:

I deleted the password from Saved Passwords in Options as you instructed. I restarted TB and it asked me for a password, which I entered but didn't save. AT&T didn't offer me an alternative secure mail key.

Cool. It worked. Now TB is functional. I checked it on the mail in Firefox and on my cell phone and it also worked. Thanks. I appreciate the help. I made a note of the secure key so I can enter it in the future.

Cheers!
