Is there a way to export the bookmarks everytime they are changed
I know I can export the bookmarks to an html file using >Bookmarks>Unsorted>Import&Backup>Exports but I want it automatically done anytime bookmarks change.
I actually use the generated file as my home page.

P.S.: another ancient feature that's gone away ...

Help ... I'm trapped in an invalid password ... forgot password ... no such account loop.
However, I do not see this as a satisfactory solution.
1) I could not find the file to which the bookmarks were stored. 2) The somewhat obtuse documentation (click on Xmarks! Icon! What icon?) seems to suggest that Xmarks stores my bookmarks. No thank you.
So, thanks anyway for trying.

Try the addon Xmarks Sync.
You can make Firefox create an automatic HTML backup (bookmarks.html) when you exit Firefox if you set the browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML pref to true on the about:config page.
That backup is created by default in the profile folder as bookmarks.html, but you can set the file name and path via the browser.bookmarks.file pref on the about:config page.
This pref doesn't exist by default and you may need to create a new String pref browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML and set the value to the full path of the backup bookmarks file.
Note: an HTML backup doesn't preserve tags and annotations, so you lose those if you need to import the HTML backup.

You did set the bookmarks.autoExportHTML pref to true on the about:config page?
If you do not specify a folder or file name via the browser.bookmarks.file pref then the bookmarks are stored as bookmarks.html in the Firefox Profile Folder
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
