I keep getting an error message whenever I or my wife open our inboxes which says : The current operation on "Inbox" did not succeed. The mail server for account xxxxxxx responded : System Error (Failure). I am also not able to delete old e-mails in my All Mail box. There are almost twenty thousand e-mails in this box and as fast as try to delete them they keep coming back. Can anyone assist?

Chosen solution

Open Account Settings > Server Settings > When I delete a message and set it to Move it to the Trash/Bin/Deleted folder of the Gmail account. Delete the messages you want and confirm that they are getting moved from the All Mail folder to the Trash. You can then empty the trash to permanently delete them from the mailbox.
