I can't delete some individual cookies, they just reappear without revisiting the site.

I follow the procedures stated on the Firefox website. I cannot select a set of cookies to delete by selecting the first cookie in a set and then pressing shift-END. I assume END is just the last point in the list you want to select. This does not work (MacOS 10.5.8, Firefox 3.6.15). I can only delete 1 cookie at a time. Sometimes when I delete a cookie it just reappears. There are some cookies that I just cannot delete, even within the same session, even when not having another window open that might be on a different site from Firefox)

Chosen solution

Do you have an extension like TACO (Abine) that maintains a set of OPT-OUT cookies?

TACO with Abine prevents over 100 different online advertising networks (including Google, Microsoft and Yahoo) from displaying highly targeted advertisements using the detailed information on your web surfing habits. TACO disables most behavioral advertising by setting 100+ permanent, generic, non personally identifiable "opt-out" cookies directly into the browser.

Unlike other opt-out solutions, this tool will make the opt out cookies completely persistent. That is, clearing the browser's cookies will delete all other installed cookies, except these.

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
