I get not responding with all new emails

Whenever I get new emails Thunderbird reports that it is "Not Responding".. After a minute or so the email downloads and I can read it, but I always have to wait at least a minute before the program responds normally.. I downloaded another copy of Thunderbird (over the old copy) but that didn't change anything.. I'm afraid to uninstall my present copy and re-install for fear that I may lose data..

Chosen solution

Are you using McAfee? They released another dud recently that causes those sorts of issues.

I just called McAfee and they took control of my computer; changed some settings in McAfee and now my emails are coming thru perfectly, as before.. Thanks very much for leading me in the right direction! Ralph
