I'm running firefox 50.0.2 on OSX 10.11.6. Every time I open firefox, a pop up tells me to restart now or later to update to 50.0.2. Upon restart I get the same pop up. I have refreshed firefox, removed firefox and re-installed but I still get the same pop up message every time.

How is it going. Firefox 50.1.0 is now out so have you successfully updated to that ?

If you have trouble with the upgrade, use this link; http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

I downloaded 50.1.0, refreshed my profile and I still get prompted to restart firefox to update to 50.0.2. About firefox shows I'm running 50.1.0. I'm going to try to clean off all instances of firefox and do another download.

Check what version you are using by both these methods

  1. menu button -> help -> about firefox
  2. looking at the Troubleshooting Information Page. Key about:support in to the addressbar then press the enter key

When you try the first method what version does it show, and does it try to update.

With the second method what is shown?

I am posting from a phone and do not have bookmarks abailable, but yhe next steps will be to check yhe update history and reset that.
