The issue is if you have an iframe that is using 3D Transformation the content has focus outside of the iframe area, but only when the iframe content is on a different domain.

Here is an example, This is a 360 panorama that has an iframe pinned to the panorama using 3D Transformation. The content of the iframe is on the same domain.

Open the link with Firefox, move the mouse very close to the iframe but not in it, then click and drag the panorama.

The mouse has focus on the panorama.

Here is the same project but using a different domain. Do exactly the same but this time you will see that the mouse has focus of the iframe contents.
If you zoom out then the whole page has focus in the iframe.
After refreshing the page, zoom, in, once zoomed in the mouse has the correct focus, able to click and drag the panorama and also interact with the iframe contents.

This is a relatively new problem with Firefox, all other browsers do not have this issue.

Hello,

I believe this may be caused by a new security feature being rolled out called fission. This feature separates separate websites into their own processes, making it harder for attackers to see sensitive information.

Please check if fission.autostart.session is true in about:config to check if you were enrolled in the program.

Hi, Thank you for your response, setting fission to false solves the current problem. Its odd it only has the issue with CSS 3D Transformations. When not using CSS 3D Transformations there is no issue. Unfortunately many people in the virtual tour/VR world use 3D Transformations, pinning an iframe to 360 panoramas is quite common, for example pinning a video to a TV screen. Generally the video would be hosted on websites such as Vimeo or YouTube.
I am also sure this will effect many website based games as well.
We hope this issue is resolved soon and any feed back would be most appreciated so we can keep our customers informed.

I don't know if this is a known issue with Fission.

There clearly this is a bug with fission and 3D Transformations. Will the developers see this post?

No, the developers won't see this forum. You will have to file a bug report and provide steps to reproduce with a possible test case.
