crashing
Hi all, I' m using Firefox 21.0 and the latest version of Noscript.
My computer (PentiumD- WinXP Pro sp3) has been crashing upon waking for months. It doesn't always do this, but whenever I leave my browser open on some websites and walk away from the computer, the computer goes to sleep mode. When I return and wake it up, Firefox crashes within five or ten seconds. This happens about 50% of the time. The crash isn't what annoys me, what is worse is the fact that upon restarting firefox, it causes my hard drive to churn continuously for up to five or ten minutes.
As of late, I have been disabling one add-on at a time to see if I could isolate the cause. It is definitely Noscript causing this issue. I also have Ad Block Plus installed.

You already tried by disabling addons, but try in safemode
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
To Enable SafeMode
- You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
- Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox"; Linux: "Firefox/File > Quit")
Remove the UNwanted Addons and Toolbars
If still your facing problem
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See "Creating a profile":

Profile Backup and Restore
I have already isolated the issue and found it to be the NoScript causing the problem. Does not crash in Safe Mode. (everything disabled) Does not crash when NoScript is disabled and everything else is enabled.
It is NoScript causing this issue. The question is why??? And how to fix it??
Try to ask advice at the NoScript forum.
