My signature doesn't go where I want it to go...
In my Account settings, I've checked the box "attach the signature from a file instead" and whenever I bring up a new email to write, my signature in that file sits nicely at the top and I can type above it. Great.
When I reply to an email, my default signature also ends up at the top, which is where I want it to be, however if I go to Options...signature switch (to change my signature to one that I've created with the add on Signature Switch 1.6. 12), the signature that I switch it to ends up at the very bottom of my page.
I've followed the instructions as per signature position:
"When you are replying to messages, by default your signature will appear beneath the quoted text at the end of the message. To change this behavior, select Tools | Account Settings | <account name> | Composition & Addressing. Change the reply style to "Start my reply above the quote". Next, change the setting for "and place my signature" to "below my reply (above the quote)".
This setting can be configured for each account and for each identity".
yet still my signature ends up at the very bottom of the page, whereas I want it at the top.
Can someone advise how I can switch between signatures and have the one I choose stay at the top of my email (so that I can type above it).
Many thanks!

I use Signature Switch. If I use the standard one attached as per account settings just the same as you describe, then no issue. However, if I select to use another option via Signature Switch, then the Signature Switch addon overides the default settings in Thunderbird. It always does as you have described when eg:Replying - place it at the bottom.
This is not a Thunderbird issue, but a design of the addon, so it is the author of the addon who would need to modify the code. As this is done in their free time, it is impossible to guess whether they will do it.
If you read some of the addon comments, you would discover that it is the only issue people found annoying.
Thanks Toad!
It helps to know that this is an Add on problem and not a Thunderbird problem.

Update: I contacted the author to ask if this issue could be looked at.
You have to appreciate that it is all done in his free time, but he has mentioned that he will be reviewing all his addons to see if they need any updating since they were created. So, as I understand it, this issue could be something he will be reviewing on this particular addon. We just have to patient.
Hi Toad-thanks very much for the update and news. That's good to know. I appreciate that developers often do this on their spare time...I'm patient:).
Best regards...
