I receive a message from address A in acct B. I Reply - shows to A from B. I send, message reappears in B, but shows from B to A?
I receive an Email from aaa.com at my bbb.com account. I click the Reply button and write a reply. This reply shows from bbb.com to aaa.com. I then click the Send button. Thunderbird shows sending message from account bbb. But when I look the reply is in my bbb Inbox, not the Sent box, but still shows from bbb.com to aaa.com What is happening?
I am replying by writing a new message from bbb.com to aaa.com, cutting and pasting the original received message.
This only started recently, I think it may have been after upgrading to Thunderbird 38.0.1, but I'm not sure.

Have you checked the reply-to addresses? If you want to keep accounts strictly separated rather than using a default SMTP address, you have to set up the SMTP address for the account, and also set a separate reply-to address.
Each of my accounts has separate addresses for mailing. Though I can change the originating account (address) to another. What is puzzling me is that Reply worked fine until a few days ago.
The reply-to address is important as well. If someone clicks Reply, that reply will go to that address.
There is no reply-to address in these incoming Emails. When I click Reply (either one) my address shows as the From and the incoming EMail address is now the To address. But upon sending it still ends up in my Inbox (for that account). As I mentioned, things worked fine until a few days ago.
Your outgoing mail has to have a reply-to address. That is probably the one you should change in Account Settings > [name of account] > Reply-to Address.
I have been using Thunderbird for several years, but only had this problem recently. It is not with people replying to me, but with me replying to them. Thank you for your efforts. I guess I'll just have to live with this (hopefully a future upgrade of Thunderbird will eliminate this problem).
