Why can't Firefox connect to Twitter using the Share this Page button in Firefox ver. 46.0.1?

more options

I've always been able to share pages with the Firefox "Share this Page" icon. The last week or so, I've not been able to share pages to Twitter, though. I just get a message saying Firefox can't connect to Twitter at this time. I have removed Twitter from the add-on, and then re-added it several times, to no avail. I have disabled it and then enabled it several times, as well. I have no problem tweeting or sharing tweets from the actual article I'm trying to share - the problem only exists with the Share this Page add-on in Firefox. I'm using Firefox version 46.0.1. I'm just befuddled as to how to fix this. Help!

Did you change your twiter password recently?

No, and I have no problem, as I said, sharing articles to Twitter from the article itself. Nor do I have problems logging in and tweeting directly from my Twitter account. It's ONLY the Share this page icon button in Firefox that doesn't work.
