Why add-ons won't start with Firefox? Every time I need to manually disable and enable extensions Privacy Badger, uBlockOrigin (Privacy out of the box extensions) for it to be working, that is, they don't work upon start up. I have deleted the .mozilla folder in my Linux machine to reset firefox and it starts with add-ons only one time; when starting a second time, add-ons don't appear in the toolbar yet they are "enabled" but not working. As previously stated, I need to enable them manually.

The Add-ons Manager is loaded just that you probably have the "Get Add-ons" panel selected and ging the loading icon. Just look to the left and click on the Extensions and if you go back to "Get Add-ons" panel later it should load.

The "Get Add-ons" panel can sometimes load slowly in displaying stuff from addons.mozilla.org, especially on first start probably due to both with people looking for extension./theme updates with the recent releases

It’s possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder

Linux: Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Directory. To its right press the button Open Directory.

Delete all extensions* files and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

After, restart Firefox.

See "Corrupt extension files":
