I have to use x86 because x64 currently does not support Kaspersky Protection
Firefox is still my favorite browser .... but I refuse to use ANY browser that does not allow Kaspersky Internet Protection (KIS). ALL of my friends use KIS, and my other browsers (as 2nd and emergency choices) Chrome and Internet Explorer ALL allow me to use KIS. Because Windows 10 Pro 64-bit v. 1703 is still "buggy" there have been many lockups (fixed with re-boot) and many (but not all) involved Firefox x86 that were not reportable "crashes" per se (just lockups), so I installed the new x64 Firefox.
Unfortunately (for me and the millions of users who love both Firefox AND KIS) Kaspersky Protection is currently NOT available as an add-on with Firefox x64. So after many problems (x64 is now default and x86 WELL hidden!) I was able to install x86 again which previously for some recent months allowed KIS as a "Legacy" with the understanding that KIS will or should be made compatible with later versions of FF. When I yesterday again installed FF x86 (from a non-Mozilla site: the install checked "clean" with a Kaspersky scan) .... KIS is now running not as it was recently as a "Legacy", but as a full-fledged ALLOWED add-on! What gives? (please see attachment below and note DATE in lower right corner: I moved the window to include it as verification)
WHEN .... if EVER! .... will Firefox x64 finally allow KIS/ Kaspersky Internet Security/ Kaspersky Protection??!!
Till that time I am quite happy with x86, but if x64 does not allow KIS, then many, many, many, many (perhaps soon-to-be EX-) users of FF would consider all the work and effort put into x64 to have been a stupid waste of time on the part of Mozilla!
To be redundantly clear: NO Kaspersky Protection = NO Firefox

OK, if that is the case I must presume that Kaspersky Protection is NOT on the list of FF add-ons or extensions because KIS must be paid for first. Further, the main reason I tried using x64 was, despite the vast majority of independent testers found on the web rating x86 as performing better than x64 for my uses, to see if that would stop the approx. daily total system lock-ups which only started after MS tricked me into installing an unwanted and undeclared "update" of still problem-filled v. 1703 (WinX). Now it is clear that these lock-ups are quite prevalent with many users and that they occur in my system even when NOT using FF (x86 or x64).
So for now I will keep using x86 (which works fine despite the frequent löck-ups for which it clearly not responsible ..., and they are NOT FF "crashes"!, why no FF "crash reports" after the lock-up)
When/IF I am evt. forced by FF to use x64, I will likely by then have installed a newer version of KIS (subscription runs out next month) and I would hope all "compatibility issues" will have been fixed

I know, But as shown in the 3rd attachment (below) that is on 32-bit FF x86 downloaded from a non-Mozilla site (first time I tried that, out of desperation to get KIS back!) whereas my complaining question was and is > "WHEN (if EVER) will KIS (Kaspersky Protection be allowed in FF x64 for 64-bit Windows 10?"
note: if not clear, I strongly suspect that Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS/ Kaspersky Protection) "slipped through" because the copy came from a non-Mozilla site who perhaps were smarter than the Mozilla folks and cleaned up the copy in a more reasonable fashion! (or I just got the lucky side of a "mistake")

Is that the official word from Kaspersky -- do you have a link?
I ran a date-range search against Kaspersky forums using Google to try to find threads about this, but didn't find any saying the extension does not work in 64-bit Firefox: "64-bit" Firefox site:forum.kaspersky.com - Google Search (Mar 1, 2017 - Sep 30, 2017)
So that makes me think there must be a way to make it work. Perhaps there is a control panel in Kaspersky to push the extension over to Firefox, or perhaps restarting the system would trigger it.
1. Well there used to be and SHOULD be an automatic choice showing up when Kaspersky is already loaded and FF is uploaded and installed. But this did NOT happen -- I was not given a choice/ question (as still happens in Chrome and IE when uploaded and installed -- in the SEVERAL times I have recently deleted and re-installed FF x64
2. Further and MOST importantly, Kaspersky is NOT (let me repeat: Kaspersky is NOT) on the list of add-ons or extensions currently available to add to FF, not now as I search using FF x86, nor on the list in the several times in the past few days when I was running FF x64 before I uninstalled x64 and after a LOT of work managed to get FF x86 back for a NON-Mozilla site!
So that brings us back to the STILL unanswered question, which is NOT "how to get Kaspersky to WORK on FF x64" , but how to GET Kaspersky Protection AT ALL in to FF x64, how to ADD Kaspersky in FF x64¨>

As far as I know, it is allowed now. Unless Kaspersky has announced that there is a problem with 64-bit Firefox on Windows 10, it appears to be a problem with the interaction of Firefox and Kaspersky on your system. You could post on their forums to see whether that is the case.
