After updating Firefox, why gmail's print request getting blocked when it used to work even with popup blocker on?
After updating Firefox, clicking the print button in gmail message results in feedback: "Grrr! A popup blocker may be preventing the application from opening the page. If you have a popup blocker, try disabling it to open the window." Turning off popup blocker does not correct problem. Popup blocker being on never blocked gmail printing before recent Firefox update.

Hi, try disabling Adblock Plus then restart Firefox (3-bar menu > Addons > Extensions). If it's the culprit you could instead try https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin
Also, make sure that Tracking Protection is off (3-bar menu > Preferences/Options > Privacy & Security).
After doing any of the above, it might be a good idea to clear the cache - How to clear the Firefox cache.

Had to do both proposed solutions, with clearing of Firefox cache after making the recommended changes in Firefox menu. But now I am concerned with having turned off Tracking Protection. But at least I can print my gmail in Firefox so I am not forced to switch to Google Chrome. Google Chrome has no problem printing my gmail even with with Adblock Plus on. Thank you for your help.
You can make a "current site" exception for Tracking Protection by clicking the shield icon near the lock at the left end of the address bar and then clicking the button on the panel that drops down. (If there's no shield, Tracking Protection isn't blocking anything on the current page.) If that works on Gmail, then you can leave the feature generally enabled.
