A következőképpen működik a dolog: 1. Google fiókban be kell állítani a Biztonság menüben a Kétlépcsős azonosítást. Ehhez fog kérni egy telefonszámot, ahova küld egy 6 jegyű számot, ezt kell majd beírni a fiókban. Utána az Alkalmazásjelszavaknál kell létrehozni egy új jelszót. Válassz egy alkalmazást (e-mail) és egy eszközt (windowsos számítógép) majd a LÉTREHOZÁS gombra kattints. A megjelenő jelszót másold ki a vágólapra és mentsd el. Erre lesz szükség a Thunderbirdben. 2. A Thunderbird Beállítások -> Adatvédelem és biztonság -> Mentett jelszavakban meg tudod jeleníteni a jelszavakat, és jobb klikk menüben meg is tudod változtatni. Ide írd be a Google által generált jelszót, mind az smtp, mind a pop vagy imap szerverhez - a saját email fiókodnál. A Thunderbird fiókod tulajdonságai SMTP kiszolgáló válaszd az SSL/TLS és Normal jelszó (NEM OAuth2!) beállításokat. Ugyanezt kell választani a kiszolgáló beállításai (POP vagy IMAP szerver) esetén is. Ezzel kész is vagyunk. Kár, hogy a Thunderbird nem tudta ezt leírni.
