I have noticed this happening and dug a bit to find a quirk.

Opening a link in a new tab: Doesn't work if the men hits the top of the screen.

See attached video via link.

(Of course when I recorded it, it worked, but it took some effort.) Multiple clicks to get it to open.

But if you watch a bit more of the video: if I scroll the screen so the menu is NOT at the top of the screen and I select "open in new tab" it opens straight away.

WARNING! TURN DOWN THE VOLUME! Sorry, but I only realised that the sound was also captured and ..... Anyway: Please turn down the volume!

Now, not the DEFINITIVE proof, this has been happening to me a lot lately, and it was only by chance I noticed the quirk about "top of screen".

Is anyone else seeing this?

It is possible that Firefox from the repositories behaves differently than Firefox from the Mozilla server. You can try Firefox from the Mozilla server to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks Cor-el.

I shall have to try that soon. (Sorry back story) I was on 21.10 (?) and updated to 22.04 and so it went back to the "distro" version.

How easy is it to use the real version?

Yeah, I could dig and find out myself. Just asking coz I am here and it will be need to be done to do what you want.

OK, so after digging I found this: (Item 2)

I want to keep ALL my ....... sessions. And open tabs.

I am not confident enough to just blindly do those commands. Yeah, not your problem. It is mine.

I'm asking for help.

Note that you get a specially branded Firefox from the Ubuntu repositories if you follow the steps in that article to (re)install Firefox. It is usually better to use Firefox from the Mozilla server to avoid issues.

Sharing new information about the problem:

The video I posted shows how the "open in new tab" doesn't work if it is at the top of the screen.

To "get around" this problem: Press and HOLD the RMB. Scroll up to the "open in new tab" and release the mouse button. That works.
