Now a days, its taking too much time to download images, and sometimes the images doesn't display at all. Apart from this, when I use the down arrow key to scroll down the page, the cursor starts blinking on the web page as if we have opened a word document. And once the page scrolled down it doesn't go up.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== for the last one week

You probably have switched on caret browsing: press F7 to toggle See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Scrolling_with_arrow_keys_no_longer_works

Tools > Options > Advanced : General: Accessibility: [[ ] "Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages" --- Try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the Safe mode start window - See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resetting_preferences
